Bonnie made it to Japan and is with her friend now, she posted pictures on her facebook. Jacob and I went "camping" for 3 days in the motorhome, his most favorite thing to do in the world. Everything is going well here, and I hope Bonnie has as easy time coming back as she did going over. They even made all the train connections from Tokyo to Yokuska. Take care everyone, sending my love....Dad

I can see Jarom saying that. =) We had a great time on the 4th at Danny's. Jacob loved the fireworks and really loved the swimming pool. Mom's memorial turned out wonderful. She would be very pleased, esp with the Navy & patriot guards being there.

We had a great time on the 4th - pyrotechnics and family make a great mix? Alessa and Jarom loved the daytime fireworks (smoke bombs, parachutes, etc), and were looking for more once we ran out.

I brought them into the garage to show them the big package of evening fireworks that Larry purchased, and the children were wide-eyed. "Whoa!" Jarom exclaimed... "Let's light THAT!"

Jarom is so funny, I can hardly wait to come play with them all. Devon is doing well. 2 lbs. 11 oz. and still growing.
bullet Ryan on Sunday 31 May 2009 - 22:31:46
Jarom gave us quite a laugh today. We asked him if he had his pull-ups on underneath his pajamas. Not one for discretion, he laboriously dropped his pants, held his arms out, examined his underclothing with care, and then confidently proclaimed: ‘Nope!’ That determination complete, he proceeded to waddle from the middle of the living room into the bathroom to make the necessary adjustment.

Baby Devon is still doing well and gaining weight, almost 1 lb 15 oz. I came back frome Conn. today, Uneventful flights which are the best kind, it was a good audit. Sure is good to be home though. Jacob even came to me and gave me a hug!! Cocoa kept barking and wanting attention, at least the dog missed me. More later to all of you, All my love...Dad Mel.

Baby Devon James Gibbons was born Monday May 4, 2009 @3:10 pm. He weighed 1 lb. 12 oz. He will have to stay in the hospital until about his due date, July 24. He is doing well, a real fighter, but needs a lot of prayers. Bree is recovering well, driving back & forth to the UW hospital daily. Andrew is working and going to school but they spend the weekends with Devon. Please keep them all in your prayers? Bonnie

Hello all, I'm at home holding down the fort with Jacob, Mom and Andrew are at the U of W hospital with Bree, looks like we may have a baby this afternoon. We'll be calling and letting you all know. I go back to work tomorrow, desk only, no running around on the subs for a couple more weeks. We love you all, seems like for once most of the family is healthy at the same time, (lucky I don't count pregnancy as a disease) More later, Dad.

Yea, Mel should have gone to work yesterday. He & Jacob were riding the quad & had a collision with a tree. Mel is in the hospital. Jacob rescued him and got Mel and the quad safely home. They were about 1/2 mile away down the hill in the woods. Jacob is our hero! Now if he would only go to school. Jacob seems fine by the way.

Ya, Dave may have an advantage in a shooting contest, I stayed home today because of eye trouble, couldn't see going to work today. I should have though, Bonnie works me harder here than I ever do at work. Jacob made it to school today, we get outside inbetween the showers. Give us a call, we have funny news about Jacob. Love to you all, Dad.

A busy, thoughtful and eventful day today. After looking at and figuring out decorations for the trailer the Gold star Moms will be riding on in for the parade, Mom and I stopped by the Little League fields wher all you boys played. it was Mom's first time seeing the plaque set in concrete at the base of the flagpole honoring Devon. Many well wishers there and we even saw Shane Theel get a hit, (only to be doubled off first base). Happy Easter all and may you all have a Blessed day. We are coloring eggs...why? I guess old habbits go away hard. Love to all of you, family and friends....Dad

Ryan, I do think you have always fixed our computers when you are home. . . we invested well letting you spend so much time on them when you were young, starting with the comodore 64! hehe! Wise parents that we were. If you had become a palentologist you couldn't have helped us much. =) Hope the family are well now. Love, Mom
bullet Ryan on Friday 27 March 2009 - 00:44:20
I don't think I've ever visited the family and not had a computer to work on.

Who uses those things anyway? :)

Hello again all, What a busy weekend it was last weekend. (21-22) I had the opportunity to be one of four judges at the Phoenix (wounded) Warrior Battalion chili cook off. What a great time. Lots of fun, prizes, chilie tastin" of course, the cowboys were there from the Stampede teaching roping, and the soldiers really liked it, (even if the wives/girlfriends didn't) when the Tacoma Hooters girls arrived. Mom had a great weekend at her Gold Star Mom's retreat, I bought a 32 ft motorhome while she was gone, but we were talking on the phone. We are pretty set up for having the Gold Star Moms in the Armed Forces Day Parade with our Heroe's banners being carried by family and friends. The Mom's will be in a decorated float pulled by an antique John Deer Tractor. So lots of things going on. Now it just needs to quit raining and warm up. Love to you all, ...Dad

Hi everyone, thanks to Ryan the Computer is fixed for now. It was really great having Ryan and family, David and family, Andrew and Bree, Adam, and of course Jacob here over the weekend for about 6 days. We had a lot of fun, and without their help it would have been really hard bringing the family in as a surprise for the wounded soldier, for Dance for a Wish. We met some new friends, Thank you to the Plumbs, for the great family you are. Everyone take care, we love you and miss you all. Dad

Hello all, I am home from visiting Nonny and trying to get back in the swing. Jacob has gone to school 4 days in a row, even rode the bus two days. We had snow last night so school has a late start so I will drive him in. We are so VERY EXCITED that you are coming to visit us next week. Love you all so much, Mom
